I have been in ministry for over 30 years as a United Methodist pastor, university researcher, healthcare chaplain, writer and most recently, songwriter and aspiring Death Doula. I graduated from Ohio Northern University, The Methodist Theological School in Ohio and United Theological Seminary, where my doctoral research centered on the experience of marriage for spouses of Alzheimer’s patients. Out of that research, I published Finding Sanctuary in the Midst of Alzheimer's: A Spiritual Guide for Families Facing Dementia (Morgan James Publishing, 2021). I have facilitated trainings nationwide on caregiving, death and dying, mindfulness and how to use your environment as your personal classroom. I am a tireless advocate for nursing aides, whom I believe are the backbone of every senior care community. My husband, Leo, and I live outside Cleveland, Ohio and share 7 wonderful, thankfully-grown daughters.
