I've been in ministry for 30 years as a pastor, university researcher and healthcare chaplain. My doctoral research was on the experience of marriage for spouses of dementia patients, and out of that research came Finding Sanctuary in the Midst of Alzheimer's. I currently train churches to become a resource in their community for dementia caregivers. My favorite thing is to help dementia caregivers find meaning and a sense of peace in their experience; believe me, it can be found! I am a graduate of United Theological Seminary (D.Min.), The Methodist Theological School in Ohio (M.Div.) and Ohio Northern University (B.A. Education). In addition to writing for Guideposts' Strength and Grace, I tirelessly advocate for nursing aides - the great ones, who are the backbone of healthcare, and I am obsessed with my new Fitbit. I live near Cleveland, Ohio and share 7 wonderful daughters with my husband, Leo. You can reach me at mail@elizabethshulman.com.
